Seeking a satisfying and rewarding role that allows you to contribute to Ambulance Victoria (AV) strategic plans?  Look no further, AV has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our People & Culture division. This is an ongoing, full time position based at our Blackburn North Business Centre.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior People Partner, the responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving results across Operational and People Services objectives through the provision of health and safety support expertise, service practices and advice on health and safety policies
  • Proactively implementing health and safety strategies through specialist health and safety programs and initiatives
  • Providing health and safety services across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Contributing to the analysis, review and development of a risk profile, hazard, incident and injury data
  • Providing on-the-job education and training across AV

About you

To be considered for this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline, have proven skills and experience in its practical application and an extensive understanding of OHS legislation.   A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would also be desirable.

You are a service driver who uses expert knowledge, experience and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to influence, make sound decisions and align people and business strategies to achieve Health and Safety imperatives.  You have extensive working knowledge and experience in the implementation, maintenance and review of safety management systems (AS/NZS 4801:2001, SafetyMap or equivalent) and in conducting safety audits and Risk Assessments.

You are recognised as being a role model for health and safety awareness.  Your self-motivation and collaborative working style, together with your ability to facilitate safety culture change by gaining trust and building solid working relationships, will be highly valued. As will your attention to detail and highly developed Microsoft Office skills and experience.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.  Successful applicants will also be required to undertake an Australian Criminal History Check.

AV has introduced salary bands, and this position is graded at AV4.  The AV grade salary range for an AV4 position is $91,531 to $114,549pa plus 9.5% superannuation. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.
