Head of HR Australia managing a team of 5 for a blue collar retail business in Parramatta region of Sydney
Your new company
A growing global business is recruiting for a Head of HR for their Australian region based out of the Parramatta area of Sydney. Through acquisitions this fast paced retail sales environment have grown considerably through to 500+ staff across all states.
Your new role
The Head of HR Australia will lead the 5 person HR team and have a seat on the Australian leadership board. There will be a key responsibility to deliver operational HR expertise such as performance management, policy WHS, ER, Recruitment and staff development across the business with a particular focus on acquisitions.
The role requires a strategic commercial business partnering approach to add value in executing a robust people strategy. You will be required to demonstrate directly how you can impact company outcomes and profits within this role. Training, coaching and mentoring of the HR team will be a key part of the role where you can add value and may require some infrequent travel to other states. The role will report into a global group Head of HR and will have a dotted line report into the Head of Ops Australia.
What you'll need to succeed
The role requires a strong HR leader with extensive people management and the ability to lead and execute Australian HR strategy. Ideally you will have had recent experience of working in a comparable role within a fast paced and multi-site business such as Retail / FMCG / Sales / Automotive.
Good working knowledge of Fairwork Act, state employment related legislation and common law, injury cover, relevant modern awards and WHS legislation.
